One week old and counting....

One can truly never, ever have enough pictures of their baby! Drew and I don't know how many of the same picture we can have of her sleeping in the swing, chair, bassinett, in someone else's arms etc. It's like every moment, new move she does...must be captured! So be ready for TONS of pictures of Ms. Presley...

Presley at 1 week old

One week old...can't believe it's already been a week! She officially as of today is 11 days old. Was supposed to arrive 2 days ago and truly, not even supposed to be here yet. SO glad that she is!! We have been in and out of doctor's appointments ever since we got her home. She had a touch of jaundice when we left the hospital so we were to go to he doctors that 2 days later to see how her levels were. Thank goodness, we did as she had lost a whole pound and was down to 6 lbs 2 ounces. She was automatically put on formula as my colstrum just wasn't enough. You do what you need to do in order to have your baby gain wait...so formula it was for about 36 hours. My milk finally came in a couple days later and now she is only breastfed. We then were at the doctors about every other day checking her weight. She has made leaps and bounds and as of today is 6 lbs 11 ounces. Almost back to her birth weight. The doctor even said that most c-section babies lose more weight than natural birth doctors, so that was refreshing to hear as well. She is officially doing great! No more jaundice as well. So we are officially just packing on the lbs...and next doctor's appointment, 1 month!

As for me...I had my doctor's appointment to check on my incision and see how I'm healing. I checked out just great!! The nurse was in "ahh" of how well I'm getting around and how great my incision is healing. She said "you don't even look like you just had a baby!" I admit, that was great to hear! They did a fabulous job on the incision and it probably won't be all that noticeable once it heals. I truly would never recommend a c-section, but if one has to have one...it was a once amazing experience and I wouldn't take it back for anything. I have been healing great and doing fabulous!

We did have our photographer from our wedding, Rebecca come by when Presley was 5 days old to take newborn pictures. I am SO antsy to see them and get them back!! I think they are going to turn out just adorable. It was a task to get those pictures as the one time someone stops by she was wide awake and it's best to get those pictures when they are sleeping. So finally towards the end of the session she fell asleep and I think Rebecca got some amazing shots. Of course when it came to getting pictures of us three together, she got fussy and we had to stop. But I think there are some wonderful shots of Drew and her. Can't wait to see them!!

My next task is to get all the pictures of the visitors who have stopped by off of our camera and post them. Thank you to all of you who have stopped by to meet Ms. P and brought us flowers, munchies and tons of love! I'm excited for P to meet her Great Grandma on Wednesday as well as her Aunts and Second Cousins!!
