Yep, off to the hospital we went last night. I was feeling completely fine and was getting ready to go to bed. Went to the bathroom and blood. Exactly what the doctor warned us about and didn't want to happen. So Drew and I were off to the hospital around 10pm where my mom and dad met us. We got there and monitoring began all over again. P was as happy as a clam in there...having a party! I didn't bleed again while there so they chalked it off as the beginning of probably more bleeding to come, which if it does I need to go back into the hospital. A third of girls with previa bleed throughout their pregnancy, another third don't bleed at all and the other third start bleeding towards the end like me. More than likely, I will bleed again and this is just the beginning of four entertaining weeks (since my c-section is scheduled at 39 weeks, instead of 40). After being at the hospital for about 2 hours, we were released. The nurse wanted me to call my doctor in the morning to see if she wanted to see me before my next appt. which is this Thursday. She called me back and nope, just gave me pills in case I start having contractions which is what we really don't want. To also call if P isn't moving as much, or if I start bleeding red again. I haven't really had any contractions so that's a good sign, just crampy and sore. You have no idea how glad I am that I'm not working right now...because I am laying even more low now because I really don't want that to happen again. We officially have a bag packed sitting by the front door just in case it does happen again. Just couldn't imagine having Presley born at 35 weeks (which I am today), she needs to keep brewing for at least another 2 weeks.
In turn we won't be making it down to Vancouver for Ava's first birthday this upcoming weekend, which we are super bummed about. It's just safer for baby and me to be close to the hospital just in case something does happen. There would be nothing worse than being 3 hours away. Happy Birthday Miss Ava!! Can't believe you are one already. We have your present but it's just too big to send down. Here it is...
It's your own chair (minus the legs that we haven't put on yet) to read in, watch tv in, etc! It's just adorable in everyway! You will just have to wait until you come up to meet Presley to get it! We can't wait to see you and your amazing parents already!!
