Sick + Pregnant = No bueno

Goodness, I must admit...I haven't been this sick in some time and being pregnant on top of it is well, NOT FUN. Drew and I have been sharing this amazing cold/flu all week. Monday I took the afternoon off because I felt it coming and wanted to fight it before it went into a full blown cold because there is nothing worse that being sick pregnant. Then I went to work Tuesday, Wednesday and then Thursday I woke up...completely sick. Nose, throat, cough, body aches, headache, temperature. Goodness, this isn't fun and I'm only on day three of this....so frustrating. Supposed to be going to a wedding tonight for a long time, family friend...that won't be happening. :(

I had a REALLY hard time giving in taking meds. I'm the type that doesn't like to take meds if I don't have too, let alone more so when I'm pregnant. I never really get headaches but with this, I felt like my head was going to blow, like it was in a vice. Unbearable pain. On top of it, my temperature kept rising which isn't good for baby and I have to keep it below a certain degree...so tylenol it was. I tried taking sudafed but I was so plugged it didn't even work, so I just stopped using that. So a spray of afrin at night it is to help me sleep. SO ready for this to be over. Oh no worries, my OB said these are all okay to take!

The fun thing is...all while laying on the couch, baby has been keeping me company! Two days ago I'm pretty sure I felt two little kicks in a row below my belly button. It was a amazing feeling. I went to go call for Drew to feel but, then baby stopped. I can't wait for him to be able to feel the kicking! Then yesterday afternoon it felt like baby had rolled over. It almost felt like a buldge in my stomach, like it's little tush moving. It was a crazy feeling.

Yesterday, while I was on the couch. My mom and dad had the boys and it was just beautiful outside. They took them down to the beach and my mom took this adorable pic! I love this pic and can't believe how big they are getting!

Next week when I blog...I will be 100% better and feel like a million bucks! :) I need to be better because we have Spring Break coming up and then I'm off to Arizona!! Until then...the couch, tea, water galore I go!

One eventful weekend!!!

This past weekend was a FUN one! My goodness everything from family in town, to baby's first birthday to celebrating babies on the way! It was so much fun to spend time with friends and family this past weekend! I can say that I am so excited for my mom and dad to come back from Arizona for the Summer...April can't come fast enough!

First things first...Andrea and Matt came into town from New Jersey and it was SO good to see them! I can't wait for that day that they move back, with baby in tow! We of course had to take the belly pic of both of us! Andrea being at 31 weeks and me at 16 weeks!

Then off to Leila's first birthday party I went! It was so much fun to have so much of their family there, friends and so many babies. Leila looked like she was having a fabulous time opening her presents and eating her cake! Sarah was a trooper by trying to hang in there as long as she could...she woke up with the flu that day but her family was there to take over. It went on with a bang. Fabulous job throwing that party Sarah and so glad you are feeling better!

While at Leila's party, Julie quietly announced some of the most exciting news EVER! That she was engaged to ohh so amazing Mr. E! I knew that this had happened, but I hadn't seen the ring yet and was dying to see it. And oh my word is it the most beautiful ring...it's so her. He did amazing on picking it out! Congrats to you and Eric lady...we are all so excited for you!!!!!

Sunday was my sister's baby shower which turned out just great! There were about 17 people who showed up and it was so much fun to celebrate the arrival of baby!

Guests made onesies with iron on designs and fabric markers! Turned out just adorable!



Family joke! My dad used to wear cute off shorts ALL the time when we were younger and it embarassed the heck out of us, so he got those for baby! We were all crying laughing! It was such a fun weekend!

Yesterday I had my monthly checkup and everything went fabulous! The nurse found the babies heard beat right away and it was super strong. I told her I have been feeling absolutely amazing and haven't felt this good! I scheduled our 20 week ultrasound (well 19 week, as I will be in AZ my 20th week). But save the date...APRIL 8TH we will find out if we are having a boy or a girl!! We are so excited and can't wait for this appointment!!

Just the beginning of baby showers!

Yesterday all us ladies went to Jess' baby shower and had so much fun! Pictures to hopefully come soon as I didn't take any ones of the whole group. Kristy threw one amazing baby shower! Jessica got so many great things for baby Miller. Now we just wait for his amazing arrival. Can't wait to meet that little guy! The food and company was absolutely amazing! The cupcakes were to die for and thanks to Kristy for informing me...confetti cupcakes is just down the road from me in Issaquah, so that is what I will be getting next weekend for Andrea's baby shower!

Yep, Andrea's baby shower is next Sunday and I am so excited for it! My mom and I have been so busy planning it and can't wait for Andrea to get into town! I finally finished Andrea's diaper cake which I absolutely LOVED making. Yep, RaRa...your getting a diaper cake!! She is planning on using cloth diapers, but I opted out and bought disposable ones for her (newborn, 1 and 2's) as they go through SOOO many of them at the beginning. Here is a picture of it, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles on it yet as the pacificers, teething rings, etc. will be added to it down at the party! I will be sure to get a pic of the finished product! I will also be sure to take lots of pics of the shower! It's going to be such a fun weekend!

Leila's first birthday is next weekend as well! I can't believe she is going to be 1 already. Saturday we are celebrating and I can't wait to head over there and party like a one year old! As well as seeing the Wats...as we missed them yesterday at Jess' shower. I just had to post this pic of Sarah and Leila, it's just too cute of them!!

Drew won't be able to make it to the birthday bash as he is heading down to Vancouver to celebrate his dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Robert, wish I could be down there as well to celebrate but oh so much going on!

So this week, I am 15 weeks...well tomorrow I will be 16 so here is the most up to date pic of me!

It's the funniest thing to me. At work I will be in the middle of a converstation and all of a sudden whoever I am talking to will say "you are so having a girl." On Friday it happened three times. My kitchen lady said "you are carrying wide (isn't that awesome?) so that means you are having a girl, your not carrying out, but wide." Our piano teacher at work didn't even know I was pregnant and in the middle of our conversation said "are you having a girl? You have this energy of girl all around you and she is running around like crazy in there!" That was pretty exciting to hear!

We also moved our furniture around and did some spring cleaning for baby last weekend! We ended up donating like 7 bags to goodwill and throwing out more junk than I thought was possible.

Here is a pic of the family room after we moved stuff around. It already looks different now, as Drew hung the tv on the wall yesterday to get it out of the way. More room for baby! Drew did a FABULOUS job on it!

Week 14...

Last weekend we ventured down to Vancouver for the weekend. It is sooo nice because Drew has the weekends off now, so we can head down there more often now. It was so much fun seeing everyone down there! We hoped to see Drew's family down there but Marla wasn't feeling well and Kam was auditioning for the Amazing Race. We so hope she and Jumana make it, how fun would that be?!

Anywho...I feel thousand times better now that I'm outta my first trimester. I have so much more energy and not feeling sick all afternoon/evening. So venturing out is that much more fun now! While we were down there Nick and Laleh gave us their swing to borrow as Ava is done with it. It's our first baby furniture to bring home! And is it the most adorable swing ever too....thank you so much Nick and Laleh for letting us borrow it! So sweet of you! And Laleh sent home with me more maternity clothes...loving life, thanks again Laleh!

Today we are going to be moving the furniture around to make room for baby, as we have decided that it would be best if we stay here in the condo for another year. Due to my condo going through a lawsuit...it's nearly impossible to rent it out or sell it at this time. So we are going to make the best out of it and make it homey and comfy for us three! So we are moving furniture around, hanging the tv on the wall (thanks to my cousin Jamie who is going to help us hang it next week) and pretty much do a huge a spring cleaning today in the house.

Last Monday, I had my 14 week appt. as I didn't get to see the doctor at my 12 week as she was on vacation. It was my first appt. without having Drew there which was odd...but he can't make it to every appt. So it was great to hear the baby's heartbeat again! The nurse forewarned me that sometimes you can't hear the heartbeat when you are still this early and to not stress...but sure enough, baby's heartbeat was beating away! It was a amazing sound! To this date I have gained 5 lbs. And...more to come. Trying to stay on top of working out...I work out like 3 to 4 times a week which is a blast! Summer is just around the corner and I don't wanna be that pregger girl with fat arms and legs in my summer dress. heheee! We shall see how that goes!

Here is a picture of me at 14 weeks. Once again...I had just woken up so I'm in my prime! One day I will take a pic of me actually ready for the day, I do get ready each day by the way. ;)

I also told my parents and kiddo's at work this week that I'm pregnant! It has been absolutely amazing how excited they are...and generous. I have parents bringing in clothes, crib sheets, bibs etc. for me! Amazing I tell ya!

Next weekend is Jessica's baby shower which is going to be so much fun! I can't believe she is due in pretty much 2 months. Wowwy! Then the following weekend is a BIG weekend. Leila's first birthday which I can't believe will be one already and my sister's baby shower which my mom and I are throwing at her house! It's going to be so much fun and I can't wait to see my sister!!
